The information above says much about the projected content of this site and its guiding value base -- an ethics of need.

Stated simply, an ethics of need value base affirms that detached relativism is not an option in addressing human situations where the fundamental needs of basic survival are not met in an increasingly more equitable manner.

Leaders in our global community need to find better ways to ensure greater equity for all humankind in the distribution of essential resources to address fundamental and universal needs such as health, shelter, food, access to education, work, income and leisure.

Greater equity in each of these areas will help create a global environment in which basic survival and hope for increased prosperity are available to most people on our planet -- which is not the case today. Greater equity in addressing global need is also the essential foundation for successful policies to combat terrorism and religious fundamentalism -- therefore a pragmatic as well as compassionate goal for all world leaders.
